Grading Pens
_______________________________________________________________________________________________
Each pen offered for sale in this website has been graded according the criteria below. This criteria is not, in any way, oficial fountain pen grading criteria, but a mere reference as you consider the purchase of a fountain pen from this website. Please also bear in mind that vintage fountain pens are old writing instruments that were manufactured multiple decades ago. Most of them have been written with, used and/or stored somewhere, and one way or another they show signs of use, wear and age.
- MINT: No visible flaws. Almost like a brand new pen.
- NEAR MINT: Very minor wear. Usually is micro scratches and very little wear
- OUTSTANDING / EXCELLENT: A very well preserved pen. Will show some signs of use and wear
- VERY GOOD: A very well preserved pen. Will show moderate signs of use and wear, but is a clean pen
- GOOD: A fairly good pen. Has seen moderate to substantial use and has some wear, but a relatively clean pen
- AVERAGE: A fair pen. Has substantial use and wear.
- USER GRADE: Has either substantial wear and/or substantial issues. In working condition unless otherwise stated.
Example 1 ... Overall Grade: Mint Condition
Example 2 ... Overall Condition: User Grade
