I have been using (and abusing) my Sheaffer pen trays for several years now and they are still intact, and this is after they have flown across country, gone to several pen shows in the trunk of my car and after being transported and piled on top of each other to many different places. You can either store those trays inside a drawer or on top of your desk or shelf. COMMENTS: Very early Sheaffer fountain pen in black chased hard rubber and nickel trim. Full sized pen. Fitted with a 14k Sheaffer Self-Filling #2 wet noodle nib that writes a medium/broad to triple broad line. Professionally adjusted nib, ultra smooth, capable of producing those very desirable hairlines, and capable of writing at any speed when not flexed. Ultra rare nib, especially when taking into consideration the ultra smoothness combined with ultra thin hairline capabilities. The black hard rubber is in perfect condition with lots of luster and very crisp chasing and barrel imprints. If it were not for the end of the level that has some brassing, this pen would be graded as in mint condition. This is an ultra clean pen with a fantastic vintage 14k flex nib in a very desirable early Sheaffer model pen. Filler mechanism. New sac. Made in USA in the 1910s.

COMMENTS: A very early Sheaffer ring-top fountain pen in smooth black hard rubber with gold trim. This is a sample of some of the very first pens made by the Sheaffer Pen Company in Fort Madison, Iowa. It user their revolutionary and newly patented lever filling mechanism at the time. By then, most fountain pens came as eyedroppers, safety pens, and button fillers made by Parker. Fitted with a 14K Sheaffer Self-Filling #2 wet noodle nib that writes a medium to triple broad line. The iridium is almost gone in the left tine. Hence the reason I did not want to remove more metal to professionally adjust it. It writes relatively smooth. These factors are reflected in the price. The lever piece has some brassing. The black rubber exterior has minor discoloration. Great barrel imprints. Pen measures 4 3/8" long (capped) and 5 3/4" long (posted), becoming a full sized pen and with great balance on your hand when posted. Lever filler mechanism. New sac. Made in USA in the mid 1910s.

Fitted with a monotone 14k Sheaffer Lifetime serialized (numbered) nib that writes a medium line. This is a rigid nib. Professionally adjusted nib. Ultra smooth. Gorgeous celluloid color and in amazing condition. Perfect imprints. No brassing in the gold trim. Lever filler. New sac. The mechanical pencil uses the twist mechanism. It works, it has the factory original sticker on its end, it has a very nice and huge gold crown on its top, has been personalized (engraved) with the "To Rev. COMMENTS: Sheaffer Balance Jr. fountain pen in Ebonized Pearl celluloid and chrome trim. Slim chrome ring by the cap lip. Translucent area (amber in color) in the section, allowing to see the ink levels inside the pen. The Ebonized Pearl is the most beautiful and a highly desirable color among Sheaffer Balance pens. It is absolutely astonishing to look at and it certainly becomes the focal point of the pen. Fitted with a 14k Sheaffer Junior medium flex nib that writes a fine to double broad line. Professionally adjusted nib, ultra smooth, and capable of writing at any speed when not flexed. The Ebonized Pearl color is in very good shape despite showing some wear and scratch signs. Perfect barrel imprints. Chrome trim also shows some signs of wear. Otherwise, this is a very clean pen. Lever filler mechanism. New sac. Made in USA in the 1930s.

COMMENTS: Sheaffer Crest in golden brown striated celluloid and gold trim. Gold cap. This pen model was manufactured from around 1937 to the early 1950s as a response to the highly acclaimed Parker 51 pen, which was having a huge success during those years. Very similar to the Balance pen, but with a metal cap and threads at the end of the section, as shown in the picture. Fitted with a 14k dual-tone Sheaffer Lifetime serialized nib that writes a medium line. Firm and very smooth nib. The color in the celluloid is in awesome condition. The gold trim has a little brassing. The main issue is with the threads, which have lots of wear. This pen came with a patch inside the cap in the threaded area. This patch allows the cap to thread and tighten when capping the barrel. Hence the reason the thread condition is marked as in user grade condition and it is reflected in the price of this pen. The initials "W.H.D." have been engraved on the indicia of the cap. Lever filler. New sac. Made in USA in 1940s.
