Pen OM061 – J. G. Rider - $450 SOLD
Mottled Hard Rubber, Gold Trim, Oversize, USA, c.1909
Overall Grade: Very Good Metal: Very Good Color: Very Good
Nib condition: Good Thread: N/A Clarity: (n/a)
Nib Type: Fine/Medium Imprints: Yes Length: 5 1/2”
PRICE: $450 SOLD
COMMENTS: J. G. Rider pen in mottled hard rubber. Oversize pen with a very thin and long clip. The girth (diameter) is approximately 5/8" inch, which is very wide for a fountain pen. Fitted with a massive 14K J. G. Rider firm nib that writes a fine/medium line. Very smooth writer. The barrel of this pen is one solid piece. There is no section. To fill it, the nib and feed have to be pulled out. J.G. Rider pens have a very unique feed design and shape, allowing to just slide in and go back into its exact location. Moderate imprints on the barrel. Name in very small letters has also been engraved on the barrel. Hard rubber exterior has some oxidation. I have elected to leave this pen in its original condition. However, for an additional $40, I can gently polish the exterior and bring the vibrancy of the mottled hard rubber color back to life, as much as possible. Eyedropper filler. Made in USA circa 1909.
